6:11: Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. 1. Waist – the belt of truth: rightly discerning - anatomically the waist is the middle of a person from the waist up and from the waist down - balance the entire body in a natural sense and stand in the Spirit of Truth - the Holy Spirit.
2. Breastplate – the integrity of heart towards God – Guard your heart, for out of it flows the issues of life; the heart is wicked -- who can know it! The secrets of your heart revealed.
3. Feet – walking in the path set before us – the ability to stand flat-footed and sure, the straight and narrow path that the Lord has preordained that you walk in!
4. Shield – covering yourself in faith – your ability to extinguish all the fiery darts being shot at you by the wicked ones, without faith it is impossible to please our God - faith is the exchange currency of the Kingdom.
5. Helmet – Salvation delivers you from eternal separation from God and protects your mind from the influences of the world – whispering lies, perpetuated fear by the prince of the power of the air – having the mind of Christ: right thinking.
6. Sword – rehearsing the great and precious promises found in the Word -- a legal document that God has given each heir and citizen of the Kingdom of God – establishing God’s will in your area of dominion; on earth as it is in Heaven.
Being well equipped by God to communicate through prayer, witnessing, testifying, and proclaiming the truth of God’s Word – Jesus Christ – the Word Walking! God-given weapons to stand against all the strategies and deceits of the devil; contending against despotisms, powers, master-spirits who are rulers of the present darkness, spirit forces of wickedness in the supernatural sphere!
Our weapons of warfare are not carnal (natural) but are mighty through God (spiritual) to the pulling down of strongholds! We defeat each of the aforementioned entities and cause us to stand our ground in the evil, dangerous days to come and to continue to stand! No retreat after waging war in the spirit, continuing in faith with the expectation of victory because it will surely come!
